Back into the roast

By | September 8, 2012

Applying heatAfter almost a year of not roasting (and months since my last post!) I finally made the plunge back into it today with 500gm of coffee done and waiting to be ground tomorrow morning.

I can’t remember for life of me right now what exactly it was I roasted but the important thing is that it was indeed coffee.

With everything going on it’s just been easier to buy beans from the local market but I’ve found I was really missing doing it myself.

A mate at my local brewing club is a keen roaster and has been asking how my roasting has been going and if I wanted to add to his orders so I decided it was high time to get back into it.

For those who have not seen this type of roaster it’s a DIY Coretto roaster which is quite popular on the Coffeesnobs forum. It’s an inexpensive and great little roaster.

I’ve left the equipment out ready to do another batch tomorrow and to ensure I keep it going, here’s hoping I do!
