Radio Show Podcasts Styles

CIT LogoIn today’s class (Radio) we listened to different styles of radio shows. While two were similar to a traditional interview style albeit in a more conversational, friendly and relaxed demeanor the third style really intrigued me.

We’ve listened to them in a previous lesson and since then I have actually subscribed to their podcast but once again I found myself drawn to the style of the online podcast radio show – Radiolab .

Radiolab believes your ears are a portal to another world. Where sound illuminates ideas, and the boundaries blur between science, philosophy, and human experience. Big questions are investigated, tinkered with, and encouraged to grow. Bring your curiosity, and we’ll feed it with possibility.

rl_logo_orangeWhilst everything they talk about is extremely interesting, even more so is the style they do it in, it is a magnificent display of talent and editing.

This has now inspired me to try something similar for my 30 minute show.

Can I do it? Will it be as good? Will it be interesting?

I’m looking to theme the show on my hobby, homebrewing, which I have said before and now I am looking more to this style to do something different from a ‘standard’ type of 30min radio show.

I think it could lend itself quite well and could be a lot of fun trying to do it.

Can I do it? Sure! (I think…)

Would it be as good as Radiolab? No way, those guys have been doing it a lot longer than I have!

Will it be interesting? Absolutely! Why not? It’s beer!
